Day 118 :  Self-Forgiveness on Authority: Releasing Fear, Obedience, and Reaction

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to define authority as something threatening, instead of seeing authority as a functional role within physical reality.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to react to authority from fear stored in my body, instead of responding from presence and common sense.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to tense my body, especially my upper back and solar plexus, when authority speaks or directs, as if my safety is at risk.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to associate authority with punishment, humiliation, or force, instead of clarity, responsibility, and direction.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to obey automatically, without self-direction, whenever authority is present.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to suppress my voice, explanation, and physical presence in the face of authority.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to confuse authority with dominance, instead of understanding authority as responsibility toward what is best for all.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to live authority as something outside of me, instead of first standing as self-authority in my own body.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to fear correction, instruction, or evaluation, and to experience them as personal attacks.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to carry old reactions into present interactions, reacting to authority figures as if the past is still happening.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to escape into energy, distraction, or automatic behaviors  after interactions with authority, instead of stabilizing myself physically.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to define my value according to approval or disapproval from authority.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to resist authority internally while complying externally, creating inner conflict and physical tension.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to participate in anger, resentment, or collapse when authority challenges me.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to believe that authority exists to control me, instead of realizing that authority exists to organize action within systems.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to forget that I am an adult, responsible human being, equal in value to all others.

Redefining Authority (Living Statement)  : I now define Authority as not violence.

Authority is not fear.

Authority is not humiliation.

Authority is direction within responsibility. Authority is clarity within structure.

Authority is support for effective action.

When and as I notice my body tightening in the presence of authority, I stop, breathe, relax my shoulders and solar plexus, and remind myself: this is a functional interaction, not a threat.

I commit myself to live authority first as self-authority directing my body, breath, actions, and words here.

I commit myself to interact with authority figures without inferiority or superiority, but as an equal human being.

I commit myself to remain present in my body when authority speaks, instead of reacting from memory.

I commit myself to stop defining authority through past experiences and to live authority through what is best for all in physical reality.
